STEP Centre Social Rehab Program

The Step Centre is a Social Rehab Program designed to assist and support individuals 18 years of age and older who have a serious mental illness. Adults experiencing mental health difficulties may benefit from participating in the wide range of social, recreational and vocational opportunities offered through the Step Centre Program. This service offers a variety of physical, educational, social and creative activities designed to assist individuals with mental illness to develop and maintain optimum levels of mental and physical health.
Our goal is to provide a range of services directed at promoting psychosocial rehabilitation and successful reintegration into the community. Activities are designed to develop and promote many aspects of the recovery process; socialization, vocational training, education and individual and group programs.
Our full service kitchen allows us to offer inexpensive lunches throughout the weekdays and occasional suppers at various times throughout the year. A variety of educational and support groups as well as crafts and art expression groups are offered. The Centre has five computer stations with internet capacity as well as an entertainment center available to individuals.

The Step Centre is open weekdays 8:30 am to 1:00 pm and is located at 612 Portage Avenue (on the corner of Second Street and Portage Avenue) in Fort Frances.
